MY RATING : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

GOODREADS SYNOPSIS :

Damianos of Akielos has returned.

His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master Prince Laurent as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill.

On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor’s forces are massing. In the north, the Regent’s armies are mobilising for war. Damen’s only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers.

Forced into an uneasy alliance the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen’s identity—can it stand against the Regent's final, deadly play for the throne?

MY REVIEW :

PROS :
  • The world building was very well rounded and it was not a romantic fantasy but a well written fantasy story with romance as it subplots. The essence of Ancient Greece and the cleverly woven descriptions set complete fire to my imagination.
  • Now coming to the characters. I would say that this series managed to create a cast of characters with very different backgrounds and different stories to tell. I loved how rich the characters were but sometimes felt that the Regent gave off a moustache-twirling villainous vibes and  that kinda put me off.
  • The romance is the highlight of the entire series. Its subtle. slow-burn and took my breath away. I love anti-hero characters and Laurent and Damen were absolutely beautiful together.
CONS :
  • I think some characters could have been much more developed rather than mere characters to progress the main plot.
  • Jocasta was the only notable female character from this book and still, she was seen as this villain. I know that this series is based off a patriarchal society but I would have loved more female representation in the series.

Android app for a Temperature Management System...

Developing a Smart Android App for Temperature Alert System This project presents an Android app to generate an alert (alarm) on a smartphone when the temperature of the process under consideration exceeds user-defined maximum temperature. Alarm and annunciator instrumentation systems are widely used in the control room of process plants. When process variables being monitored by various on-field sensors exceed maximum/critical value, an alarm is generated on the PC or annunciator in the control room. This helps notify the operator to take necessary action to avoid any industrial disaster. This project is a smart temperature alert system based on a customised Android app,  Arduino  Uno and Bluetooth. The authors’ prototype of the project is shown in Fig. 1.
